5. Where will classes be held?
Classes are held in the School of Business at the University of Bologna, Piazza Scaravilli 2.

6. Is it mandatory to attend the lessons?
Yes, students must have attended at least 70% of the course lessons to complete the exam.

7. Can students work while enrolled in the program?
With the mandatory attendance requirement of at least 70%, it is suggested that students who work part-time select only a few courses to attend and complete during each term, thus these students can expect to graduate in more than the standard two years. The students will be required to coordinate their work schedules with their selected courses due to varying schedules and this solution is to be evaluated on a one-on-one basis with the Program Director.

8. What type of class schedule can be expected?
The course is a rigorous full-time program.  Classes are usually held Monday-Friday, either in a morning block (9-13.00) or in an afternoon block (14-19.00).  The classroom time amounts to an average of 22 hours per week, and there are occasional Saturday morning lessons. The first term is from October-December, and the second term is from January-June.

9. Does my bachelor’s degree have to be in the field of Business?
No. We are very interested in creating a class with a variety of interests, thus it does not necessarily mean they come from a business background. However, those students who do not have a sufficient number of credits in the business/economics sector must participate in the prerequisite courses in October.

10. Are any standardized tests required (TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, etc.)?
No, however if you have completed any of these types of tests, please include the information and your score in the application.

11. Is campus housing available?
No, campus housing is not available, however you may find more information on the university website.

12. Is there a mandatory internship period built into the program?
Yes, students are required to complete a full-time internship during the last semester of the program.  The internships can take place in Italy or abroad.  Examples of previous internships include: Cineteca di Bolonga, Museum of Contemporary Art – Rome, International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza, Fondazione CARISBO, Compagnia Aterballetto, Vertigo Gallery (London), Magnus Muller Gallery (Berlin), European Investment Bank (Luxembourg), Italian Embassy in China.

13. Are there any opportunities to study abroad?
Yes, the program has an exchange agreement with the Master of Arts Management program at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA, as well as Erasmus agreements with universities in Stockholm, Barcelona, and London, and is in the process of stipulating other exchange agreements.

14. I am a student coming from a three-year degree in an Italian university, how do I know if I meet the requirements to apply?
For students coming from Italian universities, you may apply if you have at least 5 credits in the areas SECS-P, L-ART, IUS, SPS or M-STO.  However, students lacking sufficient credits in the areas of Business Administration, Statistics, Law, and Economics may have to take some of the prerequisite courses (for the so-called "debiti formativi") in October.

15. I am a student with a degree from a University outside of Italy/outside of the EU, how do I know if I meet the requirements to apply?
Please contact the program coordinator (gioca@economia.unibo.it), who can then advise you on whether or not you meet the requirements. It is important that you contact your Italian consulate immediately for information on how to attain the certification of original academic documents and declaration of value of your degree and a translated transcript of your courses.  Pay careful attention to the deadlines involved in this process.
